Imagine this: You stand face to face with someone, your back to a curb, step or staircase. Your participant holds his/her hands out, palms up, while you place your hands, palms down, lightly on top of theirs. By applying minimal pressure to the spectator’s hands you are able to apparently levitate up on to the top of the step. As you levitate and float upward, the participant can clearly see under both of your feet, seeing both of your heels and toes rising off of the ground. As if that were not enough, you then calmly float off of the curb and back down to the ground and are clean to walk away.

Q: Is there any “get-ready” before performing?
A: No, once you have done the initial set-up of the gimmick and are wearing it, there is no “get-ready”. If someone asks you to levitate, you levitate. Simple as that!
Q: Are there angle problems with Icarus Effect?
A: Yes, Icarus Effect was originally created as a one-on-one effect, although, I have performed it for three or four people with the same degree of success. However, my personal thought is, it is more effective to do Icarus Effect for one person and allow that person to tell other people about it. In this way it becomes a legend and often in the re-telling, becomes something more spectacular than it already is. Food for thought!

Q: Is it a lot of work to prepare the gimmick?
